READ THIS BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY MUSIC TO SPOTIFAB.
SpotiFab only releases music for which the artist and producer can confirm that all musical elements are fully controlled and cleared for the intended use.
We do not accept music containing third-party beats, loops, samples, or other third-party audio components unless SpotiFab has expressly approved their use in writing in advance.
We do not accept music that is generated by artificial intelligence (AI), or that uses AI-generated or AI-assisted audio in any form — including partial use, hybrid production, or post-processing of AI output.
Our standard requirement is simple:
The music must be 100% original and created from material that you and your producers are legally entitled to use on an exclusive and perpetual basis.
You may not submit music containing third-party components obtained from sources such as:
The fact that a component was legally downloaded, purchased, or licensed does not automatically mean that it is acceptable for release through SpotiFab.
SpotiFab applies a blanket ban on artificial intelligence in the creation of recordings submitted for release. This includes — without exception — full AI-generated tracks, AI-assisted production, and any partial use of AI-generated or AI-processed audio.
You may not submit music that contains, or was created using, material from AI music generators, AI vocal tools, AI mastering or stem tools, or similar services, whether or not you edited, mixed, or layered that output with human-performed or human-recorded material.
Examples of prohibited sources and uses include (but are not limited to):
There is no clearance process for AI-generated or AI-assisted content under this policy. Do not upload such material. Standard DAW factory content (Section 3) remains permitted; that exception does not apply to third-party or cloud AI tools.
By submitting music to SpotiFab, you confirm that the recording was created without AI-generated or AI-assisted musical content as described above.
Factory content and components supplied as official, built-in content of your DAW may be used, including VST, AU, audio and MIDI content included with software such as:
The important distinction is that the material must be part of the official factory content of the software, rather than content obtained separately from a third party.
If you work with a producer whose work you do not personally know and fully trust, you cannot simply rely on the producer's verbal assurance that the music contains no third-party material.
Statements such as:
“The producer told me everything was cleared.”
are not an acceptable basis for submitting music to SpotiFab.
The artist submitting the recording remains responsible for ensuring that the recording complies with these requirements.
We have encountered cases where artists have subsequently stated that a producer assured them that everything was cleared. That does not eliminate the artist's responsibility or the consequences of an infringement claim.
If you cannot independently establish that all material in the recording is permitted under this policy, do not upload the recording.
Even if you have purchased a beat or obtained a license for a beat, this does not automatically make the recording acceptable for release through SpotiFab.
You must contact SpotiFab and obtain clearance before submitting such material.
Many commercial beat licenses contain limitations, including:
These limitations are incompatible with the rights structure under which music is released by SpotiFab.
The agreement with SpotiFab provides for perpetual rights and requires you to certify that you control the necessary rights to the recording on an ongoing basis.
A license that permits you to release a track for 1 million streams, for example, is not the same thing as unrestricted clearance of the recording.
The use of third-party loops, samples and beats is widespread in parts of the music industry. An artist may have previously used such material without experiencing serious consequences.
For an individual artist, the immediate consequences of an infringement claim may sometimes appear limited to:
The situation can be substantially more serious when an infringement claim is made against a label.
A rights holder dealing with an established label may have substantially greater incentive and resources to pursue the matter. An infringement claim can therefore develop into a legal and financial issue extending well beyond the individual recording.
Most importantly, the consequences may not be limited to the artist responsible for the recording.
Where multiple artists and releases are operated through the same distribution or aggregator account, an infringement issue can result in action affecting other artists and recordings associated with that account, including releases that have no connection to the disputed material.
This can potentially involve:
The financial exposure associated with a single infringement dispute can therefore be substantial. A single infringement claim can easily create costs of USD 10,000 or more, depending on the circumstances, before considering the underlying loss of revenue or broader consequences.
Where an infringement claim results from material supplied by an artist, SpotiFab reserves the right to pursue the resulting costs and losses against the responsible party to the extent permitted by the agreement and applicable law.
There are many successful artists who commercially use samples and other third-party material.
Major artists may enter into specific sample-clearance agreements and pay substantial upfront fees and other costs to obtain the necessary rights.
SpotiFab is not operating that type of business model.
Our standard release model requires recordings to be clean, fully controlled and suitable for perpetual exploitation without third-party usage restrictions.
SpotiFab works with 100% exclusive recordings.
A sample, loop or other audio component that is freely available to multiple artists can create a separate problem even where its use is technically licensed.
If the same audio component has been used in recordings by numerous other artists, the recording may already be identifiable through audio fingerprinting or matching systems.
This can interfere with the exclusive exploitation and algorithmic promotion of the recording.
Accordingly, material that is not exclusive, or that is routinely used by multiple unrelated artists, is generally not suitable for our release model.
Do not upload first and ask questions later.
If you have used:
contact SpotiFab before uploading the recording and request clearance. (AI-generated or AI-assisted music is not eligible for clearance.)
BEFORE YOU UPLOAD, MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT YOUR MUSIC IS CLEAN.
By submitting music to SpotiFab, you are confirming that you have the necessary rights to the material contained in the recording and that the recording complies with the requirements of your agreement with SpotiFab.
If you are not 100% certain that every component of the recording is permitted, do not upload it. Contact SpotiFab first and obtain clearance.
